The shelves are becoming bare at the Chestertown Pharmacy as the High Street business owned by the Tinelli family for more than 50 years prepares to close for good.
A 50 percent sale on all items is underway.
A banner in the store offers thanks to the store’s long-time patrons.
“After more than 50 years serving this wonderful community, with a heavy heart we have sold our business and transferred or prescriptions to Walgreens.”
“The Tinellis, and especially Doc, Shirley, and Joe, are grateful for being your pharmacy for three generations. A special thanks all of the employees whom are family as well. WE MISS YOU DOC!”

Editor,
What a loss to our town. The Chestertown Pharmacy has kept our family healthy for years. It is distressing that our small locally owned businesses are swallowed up by enormous chains.

Editor,
For more than 30 of those 50 years, from our first days in C’town, we’ve been able to rely on Vito and crew for wonderful and perfect service, great help, smiles, or maybe items like new Water Piks or nebulizers or toothbrushes, ….and hey, some great candy. Walgreen’s may be bigger, but it can’t come close to the wonderful home-town flavor of Chestertown Pharmacy. Thanks Tinellis and all of you who’ve been behind the counters. You’ve made a difference in our lives, and we’ll always be grateful. Connie Godwin
