The Gunston School is pleased to welcome three new members to its Board of Trustees for the 2013-2014 year: Mark Freestate, Jill Meyerhoff and Greg Hagin.
Mark Freestate, a former trustee and board chair at Gunston, rejoins the school’s board this year after a several year hiatus. Mr. Freestate joined Avon-Dixon Agency as a Vice-President in 2002, and he has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He earned his B.A. Degree at Hampden-Sydney College in 1975. His community involvement has included service as President of the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council, Director and Past Board Chairman of Centreville National Bank, and Vice-Chairman of the Academy of Arts Museum in Easton.
Jill Meyerhoff of Easton, Maryland was the inaugural President of the Gunston Parents’ Association, and the mother of two Gunston alums Cole ‘11 and Chloe ‘13. A Graduate of L’Acadamie de Cuisine and an art student from Montgomery College, Mrs. Meyerhoff has worked as a charter yacht chef and as Vice President of Tidewater Yacht Sales. At The Country School, where she was a class parent for 11 years, Mrs. Meyerhoff organizedWednesday assemblies, and was the costume designer for annual plays. In addition, Mrs. Meyeroff has served on the boards of Evergreen Cove Holistic Learning Center and the Garden Club of the Eastern Shore.
Gregory J. Hagin is Corporate Vice President & Managing Director of CCS, a fundraising consulting & management firm in which Gunston partnered with for the historic Second Century Capital Campaign. Mr. Hagin has served and counseled organizations with financial targets ranging from $1 million to $5 billion. A graduate of Boston College, Greg earned a certificate in executive administration for nonprofit organizations from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the Board President of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia and serves as Chair of their Strategic Planning Committee and Resource Development Committee. Greg and his wife reside in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania with their two daughters.
