Steve Little and Esther Haynes are guitarists and vocalists who focus on the Great American Songbook. Their vocals and guitars bring new life to old standards – everything from swing, jazz and big band standards to bossa nova, bluegrass, country and rock. Esther Haynes has received a number of “Wammies” (Washington Area Music Awards) and graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston. She has found a perfect partner in the jazz vocals and guitar of Steve Little who has performed with Crystal Wind, Little & Finch and most recently with the Grammy nominated children’s ensemble Dinorock.
Baltimore based blues & boogie woogie great Daryl Davis knew both performers and suggested that they would make a great duo. In describing their early collaboration in a rehearsal that took place at his house, Davis said “A beautiful musical explosion occurred and magic was made!!!” Together, their vocals and guitars recall the great duets of Les Paul and Mary Ford. They made their debut at the Mainstay in 2011.
