Join us for our first concert of the New Year on Saturday, January 19, 7 pm at St. Pauls Parish House, 7579 Sandy Bottom Road, Chestertown. New to our series, the Fairmount Chamber Ensemble is “rousing and warm hearted”. . . according to the Philadelphia Inquirer and .. has been performing in the Philadelphia area since 1984.
The ensemble includes Taia Harlos, violinist; Beth Dzwil, violist; and Lynne Bratlie Beiler, cellist. Taia Harlos has performed with the Philadelphia Opera Company, Delaware Symphony and Haddonfield Symphony. Beth Dzwil is a founding member of the Ensemble and studied with Joseph dePasquale – the long time principal violist of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She has also served as principal violist of the Pottstown Symphony Orchestra. Cellist Lynne Bratlie Beiler, began playing the cello at age 13 in Houston, Texas, and won the Corpus Christi Young Artist’s competition five years later. As a substitute, Lynne has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra and recorded under Riccardo Muti and Wolfgang Sawallisch.
The Ensemble will perform Schubert’s String Trio #1 in Bb; Beethoven’s String Trio in G, Op. 9 #1; JSBach’s Two Fugues from “The Art of Fugues”; and Max Reger’s String Trio in a minor, Op. 77 b.
Our concerts are informal and audience-friendly, with the performers commenting on the music and welcoming questions from listeners. After the concert, meet and chat with the musicians while enjoying refreshments. Tickets are $15 at the door.
