Sandy Update: Shelter Closes and Schools Open One Hour Late Wednesday

We have a few items to pass along:

-The Shelter at the Kent County Community Center has closed. All equipment has been left in place and workers remain on ‘standby’, in case the shelter is needed after this evenings high tide.

– Though the tide is not going back out, NWS has stated the next high tide will be no higher than it was this morning.

– The Conowingo Dam is expecting to open 10-11 gates through Friday. This WILL NOT cause flooding in our area. Their Public Information Line is 877-457-2525

– Kent County Public Schools will open 1hr late tomorrow.
