The League of Women Voters of Kent, the Mid-Shore and Queen Anne’s Counties hosted a Candidate’s Forum At Chesapeake College for District 1 House of Representatives on Sunday October 21.. Three candidates attended: Muir Boda (Libertarian, Salisbury), Michael Calpino (Unaffiliated, Nanticoke ) and John LaFerla (Democrat, write-n, Chestertown).
Notably absent was incumbent, Andy Harris (R), who has refused to appear in a forum with LaFerla, the Kent county physician who became the Democratic candidate after Wendy Rosen dropped out of the race.
The event was moderated by Stuart Bounds, President-emeritus of Chesapeake College.
A combination of questions submitted by the League of Women Voters and audience ranging from “What are your top three priorities for the Eastern Shore and how will you achieve them?” to “What is your stance on women’s issues?” were fielded by the candidates.

Lainey Harrison says
Use your vote wisely folks! Harris wont participate in the democratic process…….draw your own conclusion about how he values your opinion. His current job is as a US REPRESENTATIVE, representing the people of the first. The same folks he shuns by not debating.
