Town Manager Bill Ingersoll reported Tuesday that much needed dock repairs have made the marina safer, and he credited a $2,500 grant from DNR and the work of Tom Sappington and his crew for repairs to the docks, which included an area in front of the Fish Whistle Restaurant.
He said the grant amount was “kind of a drop in the bucket” but Sappington’s crew was able to stretch it and complete the work.
Repairs covered 200-300 feet of decking that was leaning on an angle and “very dangerous,” Ingersoll said.
He said regulars at the marina have recently complimented the quality of the work.
