The Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River (UUCR) fellowship is hosting an event-filled “Reverence for Life” weekend, October 19 – 21, to include a Friday potluck dinner, a workshop with trained facilitators, and a Sunday service at UUCR, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. The weekend’s goal is to build a greater understanding of and appreciation for all living creatures, with actionable ideas and tools to enrich relationships between humans and animals, presented as a “Multispecies Awareness Encounter: Embracing Life Together.” All events are free of charge, though donations to the Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry will be much appreciated.
Facilitators of the event are: Dr. Lorakim Joyner, a Unitarian Universalist minister, currently serving as community minister in Multispecies Ministry and Compassionate Communication. Rev. Dr. Joyner is also a wildlife veterinarian working actively in Latin America avian conservation; and Susan Gore, Ph.D., head of The Mentor Group, and a specialist and consultant in diversity and inclusion training.
