Retail: Kent Plaza to have New Sports Store

October 11, 2012 by The Spy

One good bit of news for Chestertown’s retail sector has been the recent decision by the sports equipment store chain Olympia Sports to open a new outlet in Kent Plaza. Taking over the space left empty by the Video Gallery at the north end of the shopping center, the Portland Maine chain should begin operations within the next two months.

I am glad to see a new sports store coming to the area. There are several friendly sports rivalries including college sports as well as pro sports and many in the area like to support their favorite teams. I personally prefer college sports, and am a NAVY fan.

I want to be the first on the Town Council to wlcome you to Chestertown. Please believe me when I say the Council, at least this Councilman, is so very happy to see you come to town. You are in my ward, so do not hesitate to call or email if I can be of help. We lost a great sports store from the Shopping Center and it will be nice to see someone fill that void.

    Olympia Sports, welcome to Chestertown!
I’d like to extend an invitation to attend a Town meeting so we can meet & greet everyone and express our gratitude.
