On Tuesday, September 25, 2012 Easton Police received a report of an Armed Robbery that occurred at approximately 11:30 am, in the town’s municipal parking lot (Lot #5), behind the Goodwill retail store.
The victim (57 year old, Easton resident) reported that while she was walking south, through the parking lot, towards Goldsborough St, the suspect approached her from behind and engaged in a conversation. As she turned to face him, the suspect pointed a handgun at her and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect then fled on foot, running along the sidewalk of N Harrison St in a southern direction. The victim was not injured during this offense.
Easton Police encourage anyone who may have information or witnessed this offense to contact us. Investigators are hopeful that someone may have witnessed the offense-not knowing that a crime was occurring.
The robbery occurred near the center of the parking lot (the portion that is parallel to N Harrison St). The victim is described as a Caucasian female (57 years of age) with long-light colored hair, wearing a white sweater w/light blue stripes in a horizontal pattern, and holding a yellow wallet.
