The League of Women Voters of Queen Anne’s County is pleased to announce “Family Night – Civics 101: Passport to Knowledge”, an educational forum for students and their families about the basics of American Democracy, on Thursday, September 27th beginning at 6:30 pm.
The event will be held at the Kramer Center, located at 104 Powell Street in Centreville.Representatives from municipal, county, state and federal government, as well as the board of election and board of education, will be on hand to give a primer about the function of their branch of government and answer questions. Students will receive a “passport” upon entry into the program, and after successfully visiting each level of government and answering a question, they will receive a stamp and upon completion, a free icy treat from Rita’s!
There will be a Civics Trivia game, and many opportunities to win prizes and giveaways.
