New & Used Bluegrass plays classic, straight ahead bluegrass with hot instrumentals and great harmony vocals. The core of the band is made up of three musicians who have been friends since high school – Ed Finkner, Toby Price and Alan Breeding.
They have played for fun and in various bluegrass groups for many years enjoying each others bluegrass roots and the friendships that make playing in the band more fun. Ed Finkner (sometimes known as Fink Floyd) lives near Longwoods, Maryland (near Easton). He plays guitar and sings lead on many of the songs they perform. Alan Breeding lives outside of Greensboro, Maryland and plays banjo and keeps them straight on bluegrass facts and lyrics. Toby Price lives near Preston, Maryland and plays mandolin and sings lead and baritone. Jon Simmons lives between Denton and Greensboro, Maryland and plays fiddle and sings lead and tenor. The bass position is currently being filled by a rotating cast of players including Bryan Irwin and Cody Finkner.
This concert is the final concert in the Mainstay’s free outdoor concert series,“Music at Oyster Court.” Like the other concerts in the series it is sponsored by the Sener-Johnston Family Fund at MidShore Community Foundation, the Rock Hall Business Association, the Kent County Arts Council and The Mainstay. Audience members are encouraged to bring a comfortable chair but not alcohol as the Mainstay will have a bar open.
