Not only were there purple ribbons on parking meters, but there was also at least one purple person walking around downtown during Chestertown’s August First Friday. “Paint the Town Purple” is the American Cancer Society’s campaign to raise awareness in the community of local Relay for Life events, which in this county will be held September 22 at the Kent County High School.
Other attractions of the evening included the Peter Evans marine sculpture in front of Chestertown RiverArts. Works by Evans as well as Rob Glebe and Sarah Ruckleshaus are also exhibit there during the month of August.
