Chestertown RiverArts is a union of ArtWorks and the Chestertown Arts League. The two longstanding leaders in the local arts scene have joined forces and are now planning the opening of a new and exciting arts center. The expanded venue will be located in the Alexander Building, 315 High Street, Suite 106, in the breezeway right behind Dunkin’ Donuts. Current space will be remodeled to create a beautiful open gallery, gift shop, and classroom. Work will be done by Bitter Brothers and several RiverArts volunteers. Completion is expected later this summer.
The new arts center will allow over 300 local artists to meet the RiverArts mission to engage the community in the creation, appreciation, and support of art and artists through education, events, and exhibitions. This is a big step forward in making Chestertown the premier arts destination of the Eastern Shore.
When you stroll through the streets of town, take a peek down the breezeway and watch our progress!
