Haunting message,
At first I was drawn to focus on who this persona was. As the details of her surroundings appeared I decided the poem was not about her. She was describing a universal walk we are all taking. More details would not expand the view of what will be the next scene.
This is a superior poem. I am going to copy it and reread it from time to time. There is an ambiguity here like facets of a cut jewel. Each time you look there is a slightly different appearance.
Good one,
Joe
