I hope the pilot got out before it went in. Those Pax River jet drivers have the right stuff but sometimes forget we can replace the aircraft. This pilot deserves a round on us for steering his craft away from populated areas before ejecting.

Drones are unmanned.
Marge Fallaw says
Joe, drones don’t have on-board pilots.

Well,
How do they steer themselves without a pilot?……………no wonder this one crashed…took off before the pilot was ready. They stress that in flight school.
Get in. Start the engine. Release the brakes. Apply power. Fly. Even on aircraft carriers they have a plastic dome so they know there is a pilot in the seat before they shoot the plane out over the ocean.
I’m callin’ the comptroller!

Gren Whitman says
The $200 million spent to build the drone would amply cover Kent County’s annual budget ($43,000,000 +/-) from fiscal ’14 through ’18.

Gren,
You and Mark Twain agree. When Mr. Twain was told how much it cost…per killing…….to kill the native Americans who fought back as the U.S. Army took their land his observation was like yours; “…could have given each one a college education for that…”
Somehow I think I really was aware that drones have no pilots………………but I really would like to know what are the domestic plans for them. IF somehow Homeland Security gets these things we are screwed!
