April Marshall, the owner of the popular Twigs and Teacups store on Cross Street in Chestertown, confirmed this afternoon that her store and the building it occupies are up for sale. Though the store is economically thriving, April and her partner and sister Eugenia, wanted to retire to spend more time with family.
“I have been thinking about this for about four years,” said Ms. Marshall. “After working for so long, I wanted to enjoy other things in my life.”
Two years ago, the Spy did a profile of Twigs and Teacups as part of our merchant profiles.

A huge loss for downtown Chestertown!

While I wish April & Eugenia & their wonderful staff (both human & feline) the best, I’m sure I speak for many others who for years have counted it as one of the unique & uniquely wonderful downtown businesses Chestertown has to offer. To be able to walk a couple blocks to choose from an astonishing assortment of thoughtfully selected & very reasonably priced gifts of all sorts, get them gift wrapped, & know the recipients would be delighted has been a pleasure.

April and her sister have been one of the best attractions in Chestertown. I am very, very sorry to see them decided to sell.

OMG! How will we live without T&T? Where is Craig going to shop for all my presents?

I cannot imagine life without T&T! And where will I find my British husband’s chocolate digestive biscuits? Best wishes to April, Eugenia and staff—thank you for making gift-giving so easy and pleasurable for all these years.
