Joe Holt, a solo pianist, from Chestertown, will be mesmerizing the audience of the Second Sunday Coffee House at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Centreville on Sunday, May 13, 2012 with his improvisational style of well known melodies. He is inspiring for all ages to watch as well as listen to, as he wears his pleasure and passion for the piano on his sleeve.
Joe Holt is best known for his imaginative improvisations, and joy of performing. Also a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC), he performs for the connections that music makes and a shared experience with his audiences. His studies include, most notably: Yoheved Kolinsky – classical piano, and Don Glanden – jazz piano. Joe’s performances reflect the influence of both worlds, and the joy in the moment. He performs extensively in the Mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. as a soloist, as well as with established vocalists and jazz groups, and his own trio.
Joe is active in recording, having appeared on over 25 albums, 8 of which are on his own label, including his groundbreaking solo improvisation CD: “Stories without Words”. He is also active in education, introducing “Lessons for the Thoughtful Pianist”: a comprehensive program of study.

Admission is $10.00 for adults, $8.00 under the age of 16 or $20.00 for the family with children under 18. The Second Sunday Coffee House is located at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 301 S. Liberty Street, Centreville, MD in the Parish Hall. The parking lot is located off of Commerce St. or there is street parking on Liberty St. The doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts at 6:30PM.
All profits from Second Sunday Coffee House shows are being directed to ‘Stop Hunger Now’ an international hunger relief organization that coordinates the distribution of food and other life-saving aid around the world. The organization is driven by a vision of a world without hunger and a mission to end hunger in our lifetime by providing food and life-saving aid to the world’s most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.
