Microsoft’s Excel program is no longer database software used by IT junkies, this software can be effectively utilized for all business owners. For example, restaurant and café owners can graph sales and determine their most successful products, teachers can choose Excel to monitor and analyze student progress, and business owners in general can track expenses create budgets, and monitor inventory. Tom Roderick, in a recent article from Scienceline, makes the argument that, “Databases give you the opportunity to generate information about correlations that you might not otherwise think about.”
Recognizing this need, Maryland Capital Enterprises is sponsoring a new Excel course in Easton to empower both business owners and individuals alike by presenting Rita Hill, Computer Training Specialist LLC, teaching ‘Excel: A-Z.’ This series consists of four courses and seating is limited to 15 seats in order to ensure a quality instructor to participant interaction ratio. Additionally, all laptops and students material will be provided for participant use.
In ‘Excel: A-Z,’ you will use Excel to perform a wide variety of number-crunching tasks on data, from the simplest calculations to the more complex formulas. You will also learn to use Excel to track and manage large quantities of data such as inventories, price lists, and more. Participant will even learn how to utilize Excel as a database, to enter, and to sort records. Topics to be discussed in detail include mathematical calculations, home and business accounting, creating full-scale financial models, drawing and graphic capabilities, how to visually present data using charts and other shortcuts, tips and tricks that will allow users to work smarter and more efficiently.
Classes will be held at the Talbot County Community Center on Thursdays beginning March 15th to April 5th from 6p.m. to 8p.m. Again, class size is limited to 15 participants to ensure a course that will individually benefit all participants. The cost of this four course series is $129 with all materials and computers provided.
Preregistration is required. To register please contact Maryland Capital Enterprises by phone, 410-546-1900, or you may register online at www.marylandcapital.org/
