A special forum on how small businesses can qualify for Maryland State and Federal tax credits to help offset the costs of providing health insurance for employees is planned for Kent County business owners or managers. The event will be held in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room in the Kent County Administration building at 400 High Street in Chestertown on Monday morning, November 14 and will begin promptly at 8:30 am and end at 9:30 am. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided. The event is free and the general public is invited. Pre-registration is not required.
The speakers include Vincent DeMarco, President of Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative. Mr. DeMarco is an Assistant Professor – Adjunct of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health with a 20 year record of success in building public support for important public health policies in Maryland.
Mr. DeMarco will be joined by Hank Greenberg, an executive with AARP. The event is one of many such local forums being held statewide and supported by the office of the Governor of Maryland.
