1861: A Second American Revolution with be the subject of a talk by Adam Goodheart on Tuesday, October 4 at 7:15 PM in Wesley Hall at Heron Point.
The outbreak of the Civil War was a moment unparalleled in our history: a crisis whose battles were fought not just between rival armies, but within the conflicted hearts and minds of millions of Americans. Goodheart, historian, journalist, and author of national bestseller “1861: The Civil War Awakening,” directs the Washington College’s C.V. Starr Center for the Study of the American Experience.
This is the first of a series on lectures on Five Timely Topics to be held at Heron Point throughout the fall and early spring of 2012. The public is warmly invited.
