For years the late Ann Hennessy, the Rock Hall writer and activist, organized this poetry reading to celebrate the works of local poets. After her death in 2008, the Mainstay renamed the event “The Ann Hennessy Poets’ Society” and moved the event to April for National Poetry Month.
Local poet, photographer and environmentalist Howard McIntyre is organizing this year’s event and asks that local poets who want to read their work get in touch with him at 410-778-2222 by Thursday April 14. The event is free and open to the public.
