“Winter Blues” & First Friday Party at Arts League

February 28, 2011 by Bay Journal

Share

The Chestertown Arts League celebrates amidst their lovely, evocative show, “Winter Blues”, with a First Friday Party, March 4, 5-8pm. The show has brought in sixty-four pieces in all mediums from forty local and regional artists with works celebrating the stark visuals, and serene beauty of Winter and its evocative moods. One joy of the traditional CAL open show [Ed, could add “according to show curator Rich Hall] is found when the call for artists brings in artists new to showing their work. A lovely example is the Laird family of Middletown, Delaware: Diane and Robert and their daughter Kelsey. Diane contributed two watercolors with delightful palettes and thoughtful composition.

CAL members invite the public to celebrate with them at their Cannon Street Galleries. Reception is Mar 4, 5-8pm at 312 Cannon Street in downtown Chestertown. “Winter Blues” will run through March 20. Regular gallery hours are: Thursday and Friday 11am – 4pm; Saturday 10am – 4pm; and on certain Sundays Noon – 3pm. For further information on this show contact Rich Hall at [email protected] (410-928-5012).
