Geting Ick Out of Corsica

March 25, 2010 by Simon Kelly

Share

Want to spruce up the Chester watershed and get filthy?  Go home and feel really right about yourself?

Don’t miss this opportunity. The Chester River Association and the Corsica River Conservancy are looking for a few good men and women – actually a whole bunch would be better – to come help out with the first springtime cleanup of the year, targeting streams of the Corsica.

It’s from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

There are four locations that need help: Millstream Park, Centreville Wharf on Watson Road, North Brook at 531 Brookfield Dr., and Symphony Village at the Bioswale.

Gloves and trash containers will be provided. For details contact [email protected] or call 410-758-8756.

You’ll be astonished, probably appalled, at what you’ll get out of it – apart from feeling good by doing good.

Here’s some samples of what the CRA got out of creek beds in its cleanup around Kent County last spring: beer cans, plastic bags, carpets, a washing machine, ropes, much wire, canisters of motor oil, concrete chunks, bottles and bowling balls.

The river needs you there, not that stuff
