The exited voice on the 911 line talks of a man with a gun threatening people in a house near Church Hill — of hearing a gunshot, of yelling, and girls crying.
Deputies and state troopers are dispatched to a residence on the 400 block of Ewington Road. They set up a perimeter around the house. They make telephone contact with someone inside.
Shortly after 4:30 a.m. today (Sunday) a suspect exits the house unarmed and is taken into custody. A loaded shotgun is recovered but there is no indication of a shot being fired.
According to the Queen Anne’s Sheriff’s Office, “Investigation revealed that there had been a party at the house and the subjects had been drinking, including several underage persons.
“The incident began after a male and female were in a bedroom and a verbal exchange occurred, loud enough for others to check on the couple. Soon after the male suspect had a shotgun and was saying that he could easily harm someone if he wanted to.”
The suspect was arrested and taken to Chester River Medical Center for treatment, not specified. The parents of the juveniles were contacted. On their arrival the youths were released in their custody.
Officers said the homeowner, who was not there at the time of the incident, arrived and took possession. And, “Any adult who requested to leave was checked for their sobriety before being allowed to drive.”
Charges are pending.
L.J. Burgess says
I’ve been barricaded in this house, armed with small hand held appliances and waiting for 12/24/12, for three years.
Not one SWAT team member has even checked on me.
What a world, what a world.
