Somewhere out there is a vandal of the kind who gives vandalism a really bad name.
Maintenance personnel have discovered that a plaque on the World War II memorial in Centreville at the rear of the Circuit Court Building was pried off and damaged.
One of the memorial plates was pried from the concrete bed in which it was set. The plate showed several pry marks and the four screws holding it were broken.
The damaged plate is now in custody of the American Legion Post #8.
The Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about the vandalism to call (410) 758-0770.
