Well it’s June, with weddings every weekend. One that catches the eye is a little way out Quaker Neck, where Clara Crowe-Chaze marries Timothy Driscoll. This one is a little unusual in that Clara, a graduate of Kent County High School, is a major in the U.S. Army, and Tim is a Special Forces captain, and they and almost everybody in their wedding party are combat veterans with several tours each in Iraq or Afghanistan or both.

Yet in some ways it is like every wedding here: the brides beautiful and happy, the mothers of the brides beautiful and proud, the grooms proud and a bit embarrassed, the fathers of the brides beaming and maybe a little conflicted, and the guests with their eyes on the couple, the bar and the looming storm clouds. But the day goes fine: it showers early in the afternoon and rains hard late in the night, but in between, for the ceremonies, the sun breaks through.
Photographer Chris Metzloff shows one guest a shot he takes — of rays shining through a thunderhead above the wedding tent of Tim and Clara – and he says, “I don’t really think of myself as religious, but now and then you see something like this and you say to yourself, hmmmm.”
Jody Driscoll says
I do believe that this is sign that God has indeed blessed Tim and Clara’s marriage.

WHAT A MAGNIFICENT COUPLE. BEAUTIFUL AND SUCH FINE PEOPLE, A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN. BEST OF LUCK AND MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE, SO PROUD TO KNOW YOU,
Teri Andrews says
This is much like a good film; the bride and groom both very much involved with and respectful of The U.S.
I don’t know the couple, personally, but know Tim’s mother so know he has had a lot of love and support and
I pray that God keeps Tim and Clara “on their cloud” as long as is reasonable and then an everlasting, mature
love that will love and support each other forever. Teri Andrews

I met “Timmy” when he was still a young “boy” in school. He showed great promise for success even then. I’m so happy for the entire Driscoll family to have gained such a wonderful and beautiful addition to the family. I thank both Tim and Clara for the wonderful service done for all Americans. I whish both best of luck and lots of everlasting happiness.
Jody says
HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY…
I hope and pray you have more time together this coming year and for the rest of your life.
Love,
Jody-Mom
