To the Editor:
“Your publications June 16th “Disturbances” featured reports that after a police officer stopped a chestertown resident on Rt. 301 for an equipment violation, ‘the driver was found to be suspended.’ Eh? Does the Chestertown Spy intend to treat us often with such tidbits?”
— G. Whitman, Rock Hall
Editors Response
“The Spy intends to stick as closely as possible to the wording of the police reports. To vary from it risks distorting the reporting officers intent and meaning. We do try to clean up spelling but will not try to give grammar lessons to officers of the law. Any fault found with such might be more corrective if sent to Sheriff John Price or Chief Robert Edler, but that’s something, for such as this, I for one would sooner not do.”
