Suzanne Rife Frost, RN, of Cambridge, joined Compass Regional Hospice as intake nurse manager. In this role she is responsible for providing daily leadership and oversight of all aspects of the admissions process, including educating patients and families about hospice, enrolling patients into hospice services, identifying family needs, and communicating with the assigned admission nurse. She communicates with attending physicians, hospice staff members and other health care agencies to coordinate optimal care and use of resources for hospice patients and their family members.
A graduate of the Howard Community College nursing program, Frost has been a nurse for 37 years. Her experience includes nursing in inpatient hospital, outpatient clinic, home health and assisted living setttings. Frost previously worked for Hospice of Howard County and Hospice of Baltimore specializing in patient assessment, case management and facilities nursing. At Coastal Hospice in Salisbury she was a hospice nurse, patient and staff educator, quality and process improvement specialist, and community outreach liaison.
“Suzie is a seasoned nurse, who brings decades of experience with staff development, patient and family education, clinical care and quality management,” says Christie Gessford, RN, director of clinical services for Compass Regional Hospice. “She is the perfect addition to our clinical team and will be an able role model for the Compass nurses and administrative staff who assist our patients during the hospice admissions process.”
