This Friday and Saturday, April 24 at 7:30 p.m. and April 25 at 2:00 p.m., the Washington College Dance Club will present its annual spring concert, featuring a wide span of genres from ballet to hip-hop to musical theater all choreographed and performed by students. This event is to be held in Decker Theatre of the campus’ Gibson Center for the Arts and is free and open to the public.
Entirely student-run, the Dance Club is headed by an executive board including President Anna Windle and Vice President Rachel Petrie. Student dancers volunteer to teach semester-long classes which run for an hour each week. Shiv Rambarran, an admissions counselor and marketing analyst at the College, is the club’s advisor.
The concert will include group numbers, auditioned student solos, and two dances by the College’s dance team, Sho’ Troupe.
Those wishing to support the Dance Club can do so by purchasing flowers in the lobby before the performance.
