Deputy State Fire Marshals have determined a Chestertown mobile home fire on August 24th to be Arson and the resulting investigation led to the arrest of one adult male.
The fire occurred at 7:20 p.m. on Saturday evening in the 200 Block of Edge of Town
Drive which is located in the Radcliff Mobile Home Park. The incident brought firefighters
from Chestertown, Rock Hall, and Kennedyville.
Deputy State Fire Marshals with the assistance of the Chestertown Police Department
conducted the investigation which led to the arrest of the occupant of the mobile home.
Thirty (30) year old Sergio Carlos Arrieta was charged with First and Second Degree
Arson and a detainer was served at the Kent County Detention Center where he was being
detained on a prior warrant.
No injuries were reported during the incident and damages were estimated to be
$20,000.00 dollars.If convicted of the Arson charges Arrieta faces up to 50 years in prison and / or $80,000.00 dollars in fines.
