The 11th Annual Women Helping Women concert broke all records for funds raised and attendance last Wednesday evening. . The local all-star performers joyfully entertained the community.
The event was created to assist in funding a free medical clinic for migrant workers in Marydel that was established by Chestertown’s own Dr. Maria Boria. This year, in addition to raising funds for the clinic, Dr. Boria wanted to reach out to our local community and provide support to an organization serving women and children. The new Kent Family Center opened its doors on January 15, 2016. The center offers free, comprehensive services to families, primarily targeting parents with young children. A portion of ticket sales will be used to purchase early childhood development materials for the Center’s Lynchburg Street facility.
The show is produced by Sue Matthews with musical direction by Joe Holt and is hosted by Jen Friedman.
