On February 6, Music teacher, Kate Bennett will lead a “Stories & Songs” session in the Kent School library. Kate will entertain and involve children in read-aloud stories, singing with musical accompaniment and audience participation. During program breaks the children will have access to activities in the Little School classroom and playground.
Also on February 6, Kent School offer a Bricks4Kidz Ninja Spinning workshop. Come play with all the new LEGO® Board Games & Ninjago characters. In addition to playing with Ninjago Ninjas & all the fun LEGO® board games, we will be tapping into our imagination and discovering our creativity as we attempt to create anything related to games out of LEGO® Bricks. For example, we will make replicas of game boards like tic-tac-toe, famous video game characters & more. What game can you come up with to make a replica of? Can you come up with your own game? LEGO®
Ninjago is a registered trademark of the LEGO® Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse these programs.
On February 20, Little School teachers will lead children in arts and crafts projects. “We’ll provide the tools for the children to make their own masterpieces to bring home. There will be a couple of stations so children can choose which materials they would like to work with to make their art,” said Julia Gross, Little School Director. During program breaks the children will have access to activities in the Little School classroom and on the playground.
Also on February 20, Little Needlework’s and craft instructor Tambra Trevarrow will lead older children in arts and crafts projects. There will be several stations set up so boys and girls can choose which project they want to make. There will be a wide range of choices available from light saber making to pom pom making. All tools and materials are included.
On February 27, Physical Education teacher Erin Kent will get kids moving through age-appropriate obstacle courses and exercise activities. The Kent School Gym will be transformed with mats, climbing apparatuses, jumping areas and much more! Kent said, “The Gym Time Fun” is always a lot of fun and very well attended. The weather in February isn’t always conducive to active play. This session provides a great opportunity for children to get moving!”
Pre-registration is required for the Bricks4Kidz session and appreciated but not required for the other sessions. If you would like to attend one or more of these workshops, please email [email protected] or call 410-778-4100 ext. 110
