Chestertown River Arts is excited to announce the January 2016 exhibition entitled “Still Life: Fabulous and Inventive.” The goal is to showcase artists’ visions of this age-old theme in multiple ways and multiple mediums. All types of work will be accepted, from paint to clay, drawing, fabric and found object assemblage. Anything goes! The gallery is looking to have as many participants to display their innovation, creativity and perspective depicting this theme. Every artist’s work will allow viewers to explore, expand and become introduced to a kaleidoscope of unique ideas.
Theresa Schram, who has been a working artist for 20 years and a teacher for 13 years, is curating the show. She is a graduate of Salisbury University with a degree in Fine Art. In addition to curating the show, Schram will be offering an Oil Still Life class for four weeks starting November 17. Artists may choose to take the class to help prepare for the show, but participation in the class is not required.
Pieces for the show may be dropped off at RiverArts Gallery on Sunday, January 3 from 1-3 pm, or Monday January 4 from 10 am to 1 pm. The show will open on Friday, January 8 and be on display until January 30. For more information, to pre-register for the show or to sign up for the Oil Still Life class, visit www.chestertownriverarts.org or by call 410-778-6300.
