Wait, What is that Sound on High Street?

April 21, 2015 by The Spy

What is that sound downtown this Sunday evening? The drums, the bulges, the blaring chorus of brass. Nothing less than the sonic harbinger of summer—the Kent County Community Marching Band practicing up and down High Street.

The Spy caught a few moments of KCCMB practice last Sunday night.

A few years ago I was doing the sound for a play, A Tuna Christmas, at Church Hill Theatre. The script called for the sound of the local high school playing a Christmas Medley. I called Mark Mumford and asked him if they could play it for me so I could record it. He said no problem. It took 2 tries however because the first one wasn’t bad enough.
