Town Recreation Commission Announces New Leagues

July 23, 2014 by Chestertown Recreation Commission

Share

The Chestertown Recreation Commission announces the formation of several new leagues for recreational play.

Beginning Aug 11, The C-town Whiffleball League will begin playing Games at the former Board of Education at Campus Avenue & Philosopher’s Terrace. The season will last 5 weeks and play on Monday nights, from 6pm– till dusk.  An all ages league, whole families are encouraged to come out and play.  Kids need not be accompanied by adults, but must have a permission form signed in order to participate.   As this program is in its fledgling stages, teams will be divided up weekly on the field and will be offered for free.

In addition to the Ye Olde Town Bocce League returning for its Fall Tourney on Sept 8 to Wilmer Park, the CRC will also begin an Adult Co-ed Kickball
League.  The kickball teams will play on Wednesday and Friday nights beginning September 11, located at the former Board of Education at Campus Avenue & Philosopher’s Terrace. Games will be played from 6pm till dusk. Kickball teams should be formed in advance and there will be a nominal fee for t-shirts and trophies.

Anyone interested in signing up for any of these exciting and fun new programs can do so by sending an email to [email protected], by seeing us the Farmer¹s Market during Crazy Days or picking up a registration form at Town Hall.

The Chestertown Recreation Commission is a official branch of the Mayor & Council¹s office charged with improving recreational opportunities, programming and facilities in the town.

Anyone interested in being involved can reach Bill Arrowood, chair, at [email protected] or reach us through our Facebook page.
