Rock Hall Yacht Club (RHYC) is hosting it’s first open house of the season and inviting the public to explore the club on Saturday, June 22 from 12:00-9:00pm. Visitors are welcome to tour the clubhouse and waterfront, take a dip in the pool, and purchase lunch, dinner or drinks as guests of the Commodore. Home to numerous regattas, social events, RHYC Sailing School, a pool, deck, clubhouse, and waterfront activities, RHYC is located at 22759 McKinleyville Road, Rock Hall, Maryland 21661-0317, www.rockhallyachtclub.org, 410-639-2182.
RHYC is also introducing a new waterfront dining and bar service by Chestertown restaurateur Chuck Ministero, owner of Uncle Charlie’s Bistro. RHYC’s custom menu for members and guests features exciting weekly specials including seafood and local favorites. Standard menu choices include appetizers, Uncle Charlie’s burger, crabcake, grilled chicken and pulled pork sandwiches, and a kids menu.
“The new venture named Uncle Charlie’s Bistro at Rock Hall Yacht Club is a great collaboration between the well-regarded Chestertown restaurant hot spot and the RHYC’s historically social yacht club,” explains Commodore Joe Skinner. “We offer recreational boating and social choices for local families and friends and frequent Kent County visitors of all ages.” Summer highlights include a Club Racing Series, regattas, special events, crab feasts, and RHYC Sailing School classes through early August.
New members who join in 2013 will be offered free boat storage for one year and a mooring at half price for the current season. Membership applications are available on the RHYC website and are reviewed monthly for approval by the Board of Directors.
Established in 1937, the Rock Hall Yacht Club has grown and evolved to promote and develop sailing, other boating, and diverse social activities for the enjoyment of members, their families and guests all while continuing to contribute to the larger Chesapeake Bay community. The club’s membership is composed of persons from all walks of life and the main goal of the club is to promote a sense of community and enjoyment in, on, and around the water.
