Devon Allman & Honeytribe – July 14 @ Garfield Center

July 8, 2011 by Church Hill Theatre

Share

The Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre welcomes Devon Allman’s Honeytribe to the stage on Thursday, July 14th. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. with performance starting at 8:00. Tickets are $10.00 each.

Devon Allman & Honeytribe

HONEYTRIBE’s music is feel based. Although featuring Devon Allman as the front man (yes from that Allman family), this band is an ensemble cast all the way. Allman has surrounded himself with the A-list of musicians from mid-west America. If you like music with feel and soul by artists like Santana, BB King, The Dead, ZZ Top, The Black Crowes, the Stones, etc ….you will have a love affair with HONEYTRIBE. Real deal, timeless, feel good music from the soul, for the soul.

Devon Allman has been busy lately, touring the planet, working on new material for the new Honeytribe album, and also being featured on a top ten hit in Europe with guitar monster, Javier Vargas. After several European tours and a video on MTV Europe, it’s been quite a year for the soul singer / blues guitarist and if you can catch him this year, you will see an artist on the threshold of greatness.

Rounding out HONEYTRIBE is “arguably the most kick ass group of cats in the Mid-West.” George Potsos, whose bass playing has taken him all over the world and Jack Kirkner who many know as the Hammond B3 / piano player from the mid-west Grateful Dead tribute band “the Schwag”. In drummer, Mark Oyarzabal, Devon has his right hand man, partner in crime and a slammin, singin, Puerto Rican beat master.

The synergy of this band on stage is something to behold. Shifting from killer old blues songs to their own material, this is a band that will make you go “WOW!” while you watch them. From a straight up knock you in the teeth blues feel to a very girl-friendly island feel; this band has something for all feel-based music lovers. If you join any Tribe in today’s twisted world …make sure it’s HONEYTRIBE.

Opening for Honeytribe is local favorite, Sweet Leda. As Carrie Neuman for 103.1 WRNR, says

Sweet Leda (opening for Honeytribe)

“…they are one of the tightest bands on the local circuit and their professional attitude off stage does not prepare you for their raucous on stage antics. To put it simply, they are fun, and this new track (“Can’t Stand”) off their latest album embodies that fun.”

Thursday, July 14, 8pm
Tickets $10
