Eastern Shore Land Conservancy – along with state and local elected officials and state and local agency representatives will convene to launch the Center for Towns, a new partner initiative for the municipalities on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Following several speakers, an official ribbon cutting will take place on Thursday, March 17 at 1:30pm in the Crystal Room of the Tidewater Inn in Easton, MD., at 1:30 pm.
This exciting new initiative of Eastern Shore Land Conservancy – the Center for Towns – will continue ESLC’s efforts to be a resource for sound land use planning on the Eastern Shore. Eastern Shore Land Conservancy is committed to preserving and sustaining the vibrant communities of the Eastern Shore and the lands and waters that connect them. The official launch of the Center for Towns will help us reach our vision of an Eastern Shore where towns are vibrant and well defined; farms, forests, and fisheries are thriving and scenic; historic, natural, and riverine landscapes are maintained. Using partnerships with other regional organizations, community groups, local officials and regional universities, the Center for Towns will provide education on town design and planning, community design projects and competitions and community-based land conservation projects in and around towns.
