William Russell Maule, Jr. of Millington, MD died on March 9, 2011 at the Hospice Center in Centreville, MD. He was 78.
He was born in Sudlersville, Maryland on August 5, 1932 the son of the late William Russell Sr. and Pauline Thompson Maule. He was a 1949 graduate of Sudlersville High School and attended Salisbury College.
Mr. Maule joined his father in the family’s business, William R. Maule & Son Plumbing and Electric, following his education. He married Katherine “Kitty” Marie Jones of Clayton, DE on September 29, 1951.
Mr. Maule was a life member for over 62 years of Sudlersville Fire Company, a member of Centreville Lodge #180 A.F. & A.M. where he served as master of the lodge five times. In addition he was a Past Worthy Patron of The Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Maule was also a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Sudlersville, MD and a past member of Chester River Yacht and Country Club. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his sons: William R. Maule III of Chestertown, MD and D. Wayne Maule of Millington, MD, a sister: Barbara “Bobbie” Maule of Chestertown, MD, grandchildren: Wm. Russell Maule IV, Melissa P. Maule, Sarah J. Maule, David W. Maule Jr., Robert Maule II and Eric S. Maule all of Millington, MD, along with three great grandchildren. One son the late Robert “Robbie” Steven Maule predeceased him in 1988.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday March 13 at 2:00 PM at Sudlersville United Methodist Church. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, March 12 between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 PM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD where a Masonic service will be held at 5:00 PM. Interment will be in Crumpton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice Center of Queen Anne’s County 255 Comet Drive Centreville, MD 21617.
