Why even hesitate? This should be done sooner rather than later.

    Please Chestertown, let it happen.

Strong NO. BLM is a Marxist and anti white movement and organization. Don’t ruin a historic town with BLM graffiti.

Why all the outrage against a stated fact that Black Lives do Matter! Where is your outrage against the KKK!! Who have terrorized blacks lives for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS!!! Your comment is baseless with no facts to back it up!

No we do not need this here. We don’t have the issues with cops killing people here.If they do that than I am going to file to paint Back the Blue right beside it.

I fail to see how placing something in the middle of the road where hundreds of cars drive over it daily would change any attitudes about black lives or any other. Why not put the money and goodwill into educational signs and banners that people would read about the history of Chestertown’s treatment of their black citizens past and present? Why not banners that people would look up to instead of trampling under the weight of pollution and dirt? Just thinking!

Yes, Black Lives Matter is a statement but to say it’s not political is either naive or not paying attention. Has anyone looked at their website and mission statement? Portland , Oregon is approaching 60 nights of “protests” that, contrary to what the MSM wants you to believe, are not “mostly peaceful”. Rioting, looting, arson – and mayors and governors who are complicit while they tie the hands of the police in their ability to restore order. BLM has shown no inclination to stop the continuing violence, even when city leaders come out and “protest” with them. We’ve all seen the “woke” mayor of Portland “getting on the ground” with BLM, only to have the mob turn on him. Oh wait, maybe we all haven’t seen that as it doesn’t fit the narrative of “mostly peaceful protests”. How quickly we have forgotten CHAZ/CHOP. As we reach the end of another week-end of violence across the country, Baltimore included, do we really want to pay homage to this group?

I’m curious as to why when police officers murder people it’s ‘a few bad apples’ but at the same time anti-racist organizations are supposed to be responsible for everything every single protester does. Oh wait, it’s racism, that’s the reason. Also ‘rioting, looting, and arson’? Citation please! That’s a very misleading way to describe unrest that has been at the absolute most a few isolated fires and broken windows. This argument is definitely morally indefensible, but it doesn’t have to also be factually indefensible.

Have you seen the Federal courthouse in Portland? A few isolated fires and broken windows? Dig a little deeper. If it were a “single protestor” , this nonsense would be over but it’s hundreds and sometimes thousands of protestors. Look at BLM’s website and see what their goals are. This all ceased to be about George Floyd and “racial equality” a long time ago.
