Amelia Foxwell will receive the Volunteer of the Year award for her commitment to community service and volunteerism. For Amelia, volunteering started early in life when she accompanied her parents to Baltimore City to assist members of the Deaf community. Since then, she has invested considerable time and energy on behalf of wounded veterans, disaster relief efforts, cancer research, and projects coordinated by the Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives, including a community garden and recreation center for inner city youth. Most recently, she has devoted her time to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Partnering for Youth After School Program (“PFY”) was chosen to receive the Nonprofit of the Year award from an impressive group of nonprofit organizations nominated from Anne Arundel, Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot Counties. For the past 20 years, PFY has provided life-changing experiences for youth in Queen Anne’s County, offering a safe, affordable option for families during critical after school hours. PFY provides academic, enrichment and recreational activities and is being honored for their longstanding commitment to excellence.
