September 17, 2016 by Unitarian Universalists

Share

On Sunday, September 18, at 10 a.m., Dr. Susan Kenyon will give a sermon entitled “Reflections on Islamic Practice: Is There a Unitarian Universalist Link?” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. This talk will feature a short consideration of the five “Pillars of Islam,” and reflection on whether, in terms of application, there is any overlap with the principles of Unitarian Universalism. Dr. Kenyon, born and educated in Great Britain, is retired as a Professor of Anthropology. She has spent more than a decade living in Muslim societies, mostly in the Sudan and Indonesia, and is the author of several books on the lives and religion of women in the Sudan.

Childcare for infants and toddler will be provided during the service.
