If you have been wondering about the fate of the Sankalpa sculpture that illuminated our riverfront during the RiverFest weekend and was crippled by a fierce storm the following week, you are now officially invited to Sankalpa’s next illumination, a blaze of fire in the night.
And, as nature and art would have it, this Saturday is a full moon, in league with the cardinal points of the ever-transitioning cycles of our lives.
From artist Vicco von Voss, the Spy received this invitational note:
“We are combining forces with Unity Church Hill Nursery to have a burning bush party with Sankalpa as a main event. This ending—but let’s call it a transition—is different from the one we anticapted, but with Unity we are celebrating and embracing the world of greater possibilities, even though they might not have been our original intention. Maybe this will become part of a tradition for futire RiverFest events.”
“Sankalpa Ablaze” Burning Bush Bonfire will take place at Unity Church Hill Nursery from 4-8 pm. Unity is at 3621 Church Hill Rd., just south of Church Hill on Rt. 213. See their website here.
