Next year’s 19th Annual Bay to Ocean Writers Conference is set for March 12, 2016 at Chesapeake College, in Wye Mills, Maryland. The workshops will again feature 30 one-hour sessions as regular presenters delve into new topics. First-time speakers will include Laura Reeth, the publicist for best-selling novelist Nora Roberts, who will share PR tips for authors, and Brenda Clough and Steve Davidson, who will speak about science fiction and fantasy. Tom McHugh will do a session on songwriting, a topic new to Bay to Ocean.
The conference, which has sold out for the past eight years, draws together more than 200 attendees who come to meet, network, and learn from writers, editors, educators, social media gurus, and others connected to publishing. Attendees exchange ideas, hone the writing craft, and participate in networking discussions during lunch. Register early for one-on-one manuscript reviews by published authors at additional cost. These are by appointment only.
Conference fees are $115 for adults and $55 for students with ID and include continental breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, and all workshops. Manuscript reviews are additional at $55 each. An onsite bookstore runs throughout the day.
As one of the region’s premier educational seminars, the Bay To Ocean Writers Conference attracts participants from five states as well as the District of Columbia.
