On Tuesday, October 13, RiverArts is pleased to welcome Leon Frison to speak as part of the popular Creative Lives lecture series. The Creative Lives series invites the community to learn about the creative path and process of artists, musicians and other creative individuals in our community.
Leon Frison is a musician, teacher, and pastor. A talented trumpet player, Frison has recorded with or done arrangements for many well known gospel artists including Barbara Ward Farmer and the Wagner Alumni Choir, the late James Cleveland, The Williams Brothers and The Gabriel Hardeman Delegation. Frison is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of the Performing Arts with a degree in Trumpet Studio – Jazz Emphasis. In addition to his time as a working musician, for the last 20 years, Frison has guided the youth of Kent County as a music teacher. He has served as a member of many community organizations including being Chairman of the Local Management Board for Children’s and Family Services of Kent County, President of the Concerned Men of Kent County Inc., Chaplain for the Kent County Detention Center, Mid-Shore Council Against Domestic Violence Task Force and as a board member of the Responsible Fatherhood Coalition of Kent County.
