Those facing divorce, child custody and other family law issues can learn about Maryland’s legal procedures on Tuesday, June 16, at Chesapeake College Wye Mills Campus.
“Family Law for the People: Understanding the Law and Court Process” will feature legal experts and scholars who will provide information on family law topics including divorce, child custody, and child support. They will explain the court process and alternatives to going to court, offering advice on how to represent oneself in court and how to find and work with attorneys.
The seminar is presented by the Department of Family Administration, Administrative Office of the Courts–Programs, in collaboration with the Maryland State Bar Association Section of Family and Juvenile Law, The People’s Law Library of Maryland, and Mid-Shore Pro Bono.
The seminar is free and will run from 6 to 9 p.m., with food and refreshments provided.
