On Sunday, April 19, 10 AM, Ms. Kim Agee will present a sermon entitled “Shifting Energy: From Fossil Fuels to Climate Action” for the Unitarian Universalists of the
Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. The primary energy sources consumed across our planet are fossil fuels – coal, oil, and natural gas. These are not unlimited or renewable sources. The burning of fossil fuels plays a key role in the crises of ecological destruction, rising inequality, and climate change. We probably all know this, at least at some level.
This talk argues that all is not lost but we must act soon or it will be. Further, there is arguably no religious community better suited to respond to these global crises and help bring about a world that is filled with more love, more beauty, more compassion, more peace, and more justice than UUs. The talk is based on the writings of Mathew McHale.
Religious programs for children and youth will be available, as well as childcare for infants and toddlers. Please call 410-778-3440 for more information.
