RiverArts’ KidSPOT creativity center will be celebrating its one year anniversary on Saturday with a birthday party open house. Drop in between 1:00-3:00 p.m. for cake and fun. KidSPOT is a hands-on creative learning center for children aged 2-12. We are open every Saturday free of charge to kids accompanied by their parents, or other responsible adult.
KidSPOT opened its doors for the first time on April 4, 2014 to a standing room only crowd. Since then, the center has provided creative learning fun to over 1000 visitors. It was founded by a grant from Andy and Leslie Price, who answered the call of RiverArts board president, Lani Seikaly, who asked for community support to make KidSPOT possible. KidSPOT’s ongoing operational costs are funded through donations and generous support of sponsors. The month of April is sponsored by Dixon Valve. In addition, KidSPOT has an amazing crew of volunteers that staff the center on Saturdays, and also that assist with developing activities and workshops.
Each week, as many as thirty children and their families participate in KidSPOT activities during free play sessions from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. KidSPOT has become a regional attraction, regularly drawing families from Cecilton, Kent Island, and even across the bay to our community.
We hope you will join us to celebrate the one year anniversary of KidSPOT. For more information, please visit www.chestertownriverarts.org/kidspot, or call 410-778-6300.
