Chester Gras 2015 will take place on Saturday, February 7, 2015. This year it will again start with a parade at 1:00 that will circle Monument and Fountain Parks. Afterwards, there will be fun, food (gumbo donated by the following restaurants: Blue Heron Café, Chester River Seafood, Fish Whistle, K-B Market and Kitchen School, Lemon Leaf Café, Luisa’s Cucina Italiana, The Kitchen at The Imperial, and Uncle Charlie’s Bistro and King Cake made from The Little Village Bakery); music by Phil Dutton and The Alligators and the Kent County Middle School Band, children’s activities and a silent auction (with many great items/gift certificates/services generously donated by area businesses) in A HEATED TENT. The tent will be located on High Street between Court and Queen Streets.
Once again, all of the proceeds from Chester Gras will go to benefit the area Backpack Programs. Last year this event rose over $5,000 that was distributed amongst the areas’ Backpack Programs. Major supporters of this event are the Town of Chestertown, Kent County Arts Council, Atlantic Tractor, The Mainstay, and Todd’s Body Shop.
